Weekly update
Oct 12–18: longer sync ranges and clearer help
New and improved
- Free and Plus can add a longer forward sync range. Free can add one year ahead or an unlimited range, and Plus can add an unlimited range. Pro already includes unlimited. Each add-on is billed on your subscription, and the range choices show in the sync wizard and on the pricing page.
- Custom rules can react to how long an event is, what time it starts, which weekday it falls on, and the domain of a guest's email address. Plus and up.
- Help now explains every status, pause, hold and error message, with links to those explanations from your sync. There are ten new custom-rule recipes too. A new docs site at docs.syncdate.app has guides and an MCP tool reference.
- Re-sync waits five minutes between runs, and tells you when a sync is already updating or was re-synced a moment ago.
- In Activity, "no changes found" checks older than a week collapse to one line per day, with that day's check count.
- If you decide not to upgrade, the upgrade pop-up asks why, and what you would pay for instead.
- If a new sync's first copy stays unfinished, the sync shows the likely cause and the next step, such as reconnecting or contacting support.
Fixed
- Outlook calendars on personal Microsoft accounts signed in with a Gmail or custom-domain address no longer ask you to reconnect.
- When a repeating meeting is cancelled in Outlook, its copy on your other calendar is removed too.
- A repeating event that Google stops showing after a far-future date no longer shows up as a sync error.
- Recurring Google Calendar imports keep moving instead of looking stalled.
- Notes from Outlook keep their line breaks when copied to Google or CalDAV.
- CalDAV calendars on servers that stop reading dates after 2037 (such as SOGo) no longer miss events.
- A sync that stopped early no longer shows "1 event failed", and recurring events in syncs with no end date are picked up sooner.
- A sync no longer shows "Sync on hold" after the work it was waiting on has already been applied.
- A cancelled copied event no longer leaves an otherwise running sync showing that it needs support.
- If a calendar in an active sync can't be read, the dashboard shows an action-needed alert instead of an up-to-date status.
- A failed payment no longer cancels a subscription that is still active, personal or Team.
- Team members' Google and Outlook syncs get the 15-minute fallback check their plan includes.
