Weekly update
Oct 26–Nov 1: stuck copies, deletes and calendar editing
New and improved
- Create, edit and delete events, add guests and open links, all from your calendar view.
- Connect iCloud in one click from the Accounts page, with clearer error messages.
- Some CalDAV servers, such as DingTalk, now connect when you enter the calendar URL itself.
- Editing CalDAV credentials checks the new password before saving. iCloud users see a reminder to use an app-specific password.
- Events that did not copy are retried every day, and again when you reconnect an account.
- Account settings shows cleanup progress and says why an account must stay connected until it finishes.
Fixed
- Deleting an original event removes its copy. Restoring the original brings the copy back, for single events and occurrences.
- Cancelled one-time events, deleted series and deleted past occurrences are removed from the copy calendar, so it matches the source.
- Copies stuck after a calendar did not answer a write are corrected on their own. Missing copies come back, and copies of deleted events are removed.
- An event that cannot be copied shows as "not copied" with a reason after 25 hours, instead of stalling the whole sync for days.
- Changes to long recurring series reach your other calendars sooner, instead of waiting for days.
- Moving a repeating Google event to a new time no longer leaves copies at the old time.
- A Google series longer than 730 occurrences keeps copying its later dates to Google.
- A calendar feed that briefly returns only a few events no longer removes your copies.
- Deleting a sync finishes when its iCloud calendar holds extra items or was already deleted. If an account needs reconnecting, the dialog names the calendar and says its copies stay.
- iCloud calendars that Apple moved to another server can be edited, saved and disconnected again.
- A CalDAV account that repeatedly refuses its password asks you to reconnect. A successful password change clears the warning.
- Large first syncs finish faster, and the sync page, sync list, sidebar and assistant now show the same status.
- The first-sync banner no longer says the window is empty when events did copy.
- Success and error notices show separately after a mixed Team invite batch.
