Weekly update
Oct 5–11: calendar auto-refresh, privacy choices and fixes
New and improved
- The calendar view refreshes itself every 5 minutes, shows each calendar as soon as it loads, and has one Refresh button, so you no longer need to reload the page to see new events.
- Choose which events to copy: all events, private events only or non-private events only. For each copy, pick privacy as Default, Always private, Always public or Match source.
- Copy meeting links, dial-in details and codes between synced calendars.
- Choose Google and Outlook calendar access in one place, see what each account can read and edit, and change it without losing your selected calendars.
- When SYNCDATE pauses a sync because too many events would be deleted, you get an email about it and an attention dot in your sync list.
- A new help guide explains why a sync can look healthy while some events are missing.
Fixed
- Edits you make in iCloud to events you imported now reach their Google and Outlook copies instead of being silently ignored.
- Moving a whole recurring event moves its copy too, and changes to single occurrences reach copies that were edited directly.
- Declined, cancelled and shortened-series occurrences are removed from synced calendars promptly, and changes to recurring events arrive much sooner.
- Deleting an event in an iCloud calendar removes its copy again, including in very large calendars.
- Yearly events copy to Outlook in more cases, including yearly events from Google and all-day birthdays that began before 2007 in US time zones.
- Recurring Outlook meetings later in the day are no longer skipped by your sync hours.
- Outlook calendars are no longer paused by mistake for calendar permission. A sync paused because access was lost now says why, offers a Reconnect button and resumes by itself once access returns.
- CalDAV calendars set to sync everything keep picking up changes after the first import.
- Opening an Activity row takes you to the original event, not the copy.
- Emails about your plan are still true when they arrive, so no "you cancelled" note after you upgrade.
