Personal → Work, shown as Busy
Your work calendar shows when you're unavailable, and nothing else about your personal life.
Free plan.
When this is for you
Colleagues book over your personal commitments because your work calendar looks empty — but you don't want them reading what those commitments are.
Before you turn it on
- Every copy is titled "Busy" — no title, description, location, or guests cross over.
- The copy keeps the original's free/busy state. An event you marked Free shows as Free, so people can still book over it — turn off "Show real availability" on the sync if you want everything to block time.
- Nothing is ever written back to your personal calendar; this direction only goes one way.
How it works
Connect the accounts you are allowed to use, then check that SYNCDATE can read the personal calendar and write to the work calendar. Review the plan requirement above and choose a test appointment within your sync window. Keep sensitive details out of the test until you have inspected the destination copy and its availability.
What you'll pick
The one with the real detail. Nothing is written to it.
1 calendar · Read only
Where the Busy blocks appear.
1 calendar · Copies land here
Setting it up
- Pick your personal calendar as the source. Nothing is written to it.
- Pick your work calendar. The Busy blocks appear here.
- Leave the title option on Title says "Busy", and leave descriptions, locations and guests switched off.
- Review "Show real availability": a source event marked Free can remain Free even when the copy is titled Busy.
- Start with a harmless test event. After its copy appears, inspect the work calendar for its title, details, time and free/busy state; check the scheduling assistant you use. If anything is wrong or missing, pause and review the setup before using sensitive events.
Variations
Two filters you can add to this sync at any point, without rebuilding it.
Sync everything except all-day events
Add an "All-day events" exclude rule and holidays, birthdays and travel banners stay out of the calendar you sync into. It also catches birthdays from a subscribed calendar, which "Special dates from contacts" cannot — those arrive as ordinary events, so only the all-day rule sees them.
Only invitations you've accepted
Set "Which events to sync (RSVP)" to "Only-yes" and meeting requests you haven't answered stay out of the calendar you sync into until you accept them.
